A Legacy Built to Last

Ross & Anglin was established in Montreal in 1934 by visionaries James Ross and Douglas Anglin, who laid the foundation for a company that would become a trusted name in Canadian construction. In 1967, Theodore (Ted) S. Thompson joined the firm as an estimator, bringing the drive and foresight that would define the company's next era. By 1975, he had become the majority owner, ushering in a period of transformation and guiding the company towards the enduring legacy that the Thompson family continues to build upon today.

Under Ted’s leadership, the company expanded into eastern Ontario in the late 1970s, starting in Cornwall, and later opening offices in Toronto and Ottawa. Over time, the company’s Ontario operations became fully based in Ottawa, where Ross & Anglin has contributed to major projects across the National Capital Region, including work in Gatineau and along the Ottawa River, as well as significant upgrades to the dams at Kennisis Lake, Red Pine Lake and Bob’s Lake.

Throughout its history, Ross & Anglin has helped shape Canada’s industrial and built infrastructure, with a portfolio that includes Expo 67, La Cité, Maison Alcan, and the Canadian Museum of History. We are proud to serve clients such as Canadair, now Bombardier, as well as Pratt & Whitney Canada, Parks Canada, Parmalat, Domtar, Kruger, the National Capital Commission (NCC) and Hydro Ottawa, continuing a legacy of craftsmanship, reliability, and integrity that spans more than nine decades.
